Hello: Did anyone remember to say Rabbit?  When I was a child we used to have a custom of saying rabbit the first thing on the first of every month.  It was supposed to bring luck for the rest of the month.

It was a real pleasure meeting as many parents as I did.  Please use my e-mail to contact me.  I look forward to working with all of you this year.

This week (October 3 - 7th)  we will be studying Chapter 5 in Chemistry and Chapter 4 in Physics.  We will do 2 labs in physics using the concepts of acceleration due to gravity and the gravity's acceleration using a pendulum.  The chemistry students will be learning how to light a Bunsen Burner, as well.

Here's what you need to know for class this year.

3 ring-binder no smaller than 1 inch thick - used only for science
pens/pencils
paper for 3-ring
5 dividers for binder

There are limited supplies of the following in the classroom for use: colored pencils, rulers, protractors, and calculators.

Each student must bring his/her 3-ring binder, pen & pencil, and textbook to class each day.  You risk loss of partial credit if these are not with you.

If you are absent, make-up days will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:35 to 3:30 unless there is a teacher's meeting or parent conference.  If these are hard for you to do we can arrange alternate times.  Two (2) weeks are given for make-up work.  If not done in two weeks credit for papers will be lost unless there are extenuating circumstances and you have spoken to me about it before the two weeks are up.
